NATCHEZ — Those with pothole or road problems should direct calls to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office during the holidays.
Employees of the Adams County Road Department will be on holiday vacation leave from Dec. 20 to Jan. 4, Road Manager Clarence “Curley” Jones said Monday at a special meeting of the Adams County Board of Supervisors.
Jones said at least one person from the road department will be on call 24/7 during the holidays. The sheriff’s office will know how to get in touch with the on-call road employee.
Jones said the road department has an extended holiday vacation because his employees regularly work during state designated holidays, such as Martin Luther King Jr. Day or Labor Day.
Board President Darryl Grennell passed a motion to advertise the road department’s holiday in the newspaper and direct residents to the sheriff’s office for road assistance.
The board met primarily to discuss candidates for the open county administrator position. The board entered executive discussion to discuss personnel issues relating to the hiring of the administrator position.
