Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ray Boyd of Natchez announce the engagement of their daughter, April Boyd to John W. Bowen IV, son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Bowen III of Vicksburg.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Adams County Christian School in Natchez and a graduate of Hinds Community College’s nursing program.

She is a registered nurse in the operating room at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. Thomas Ray Boyd and the late Betty Boyd of Natchez and the late Mr. and Mrs. Billy Ray Freeman of Monterey.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Warren Central High School in Vicksburg and a graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in business administration.

He is a partner in J and J Farms in Vicksburg.

He is the grandson of Mr. John W. Bowen Jr. and the late Mrs. Marilyn Bowen of Vicksburg and the late Mr. and Mrs. Warren Buchanan and the late Mr. Fred Wright of Tupelo.

The wedding will be at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, July 20, 2014, at the Ivy Venue in Flowood.
