FROGMORE — Services for James Collins, 58, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Collins was born May 27, 1956, in Frogmore, the son of Mose and Estelle Jefferson Collins.
He was an auto mechanic.
Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Gaynel Hawkins Collins; three sons, Moecke Hawkins and wife, Angelia, Vondell Hawkins and Johnjuan Hawkins; eight daughters, Ena H. Davis and husband, Edward, LaTakia Hawkins, Camesha H. Goings and husband, Randall, Kyara H. Brown and husband, Wendell, Myara Hawkins, Colanca Hawkins, Johnmese Hawkins and Keisho Hawkins, all of Ferriday; four brothers, Mose Collins Jr. of Marion, Lee Collins and wife, Lauretha, of Ridgecrest, Joseph Collins of Oakland and Danny Collins and wife, Cloletha, of Ferriday; five sisters, Susie Sheppard, Diane Collins, Estelle Collins, Irene C. Walters and husband, Ronald, and Gloria Barnes and husband, Darnell, all of Ferriday; two godchildren, Jenice Butler of Vidalia and Pamela Grayson of Blytheville, Ark.; 38 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers-in-law, Amos Hawkins of Sicily Island and Roosevelt Hawkins and wife, Gail, of Vidalia; eight sisters-in-law, Shirley Washington and husband, Gene, of Natchez, Patricia Hawkins Green and husband, Perry, of Ferriday, Ava Hawkins of Detroit, Brenda Hawkins of Memphis, Deanna Hawkins of Beaumont, Texas, Phronel Brown and husband, Prince, and Demetrice Hawkins, all of Vidalia, and Kim Hawkins of Flordia.
