NATCHEZ — Bad Boy Buggies and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission have issued a second voluntary recall due to unexpected acceleration of the electric, off-road vehicles.

The new, expanded recall, applies to all Bad Boy Classic models manufactured from early 2003 to May 2010.

The latest recall was issued last week.

Anyone owning a recalled model should stop using it and contact the dealer from which they purchased the vehicle to schedule a free repair.

The fix in a 2009 recall of 3,000 buggies sold between June 2007 and July 2009 reportedly did not adequately repair the problem.

Buggy owners who participated in the first recall should also participate in this one, the CPSC recall says. After the first recall, a patch was developed.

Approximately 9,300 buggies are being recalled now.

Since the 2009 recall, the company has received 27 additional reports of unexpected acceleration, including reports of arm and leg fractures, the press release says.
