FERRIDAY — Services for Ethel “Kitty” Martin, 86, of Ferriday, who died Monday, June 2, 2014, at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harvest Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Justin Conner officiating.
Burial will follow in Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at St. James Baptist Church on Skipper Drive in Ferriday.
Mrs. Martin was born Oct. 13, 1927, in Ferriday, the daughter of Walter and Beatrice Wallace Henderson.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Walter Henderson and Ernest Henderson.
Survivors include five sons, Lawrence Martin Jr. and wife, Sherria, the Rev. Lee Martin Sr. and wife, Juanita, Eddie Martin and wife, Joyce, and Joseph Martin, all of Ferriday, and Billy Martin and wife, Karen, of Houston; three daughters, Patricia Martin of Ferriday, Annie Palms and Gladys McCray and husband, Joseph, both of Houston; seven brothers, Louis Henderson and wife, Arnestine, Leon Henderson and wife, Linda, Cemuel Henderson and wife, Priscilla, and Wilbert Henderson, all of Ferriday, Leroy Henderson, Jesse Henderson and wife, Rosalin, both of New Orleans, and Oliver Henderson and wife, Mattie, of Chicago; four sisters, Ernestine Harris, Virgina Washington and husband, Ike, Thelma Webb, and Elizabeth Calhoun, all of Ferriday; one goddaughter, Archia Watson of Ferriday; 30 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-granchildren; a special cousin, Lela Petty of Newellton; and a number of nephews, nieces and other relatives.
