Adams County Circuit Court Cases
Tuesday, May 20:
Jermaine Marsaw pleaded guilty to aggravated assault (count No. 4) in Judge Lillie Blackmon Sanders’ court. Sentenced to 15 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, which to run concurrently with sentence in cause numbered 13KR0115-S. Upon release from MDOC, the defendant must pay all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200 as well as restitution of $588.53 in the office of the Adams County Circuit Clerk. Counts No. 1, 2 and 3 (all for aggravated assaults) are dismissed.
Monday, May 19:
Tavonte D. White pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in Judge Sanders’ court. Sentenced to five years in MDOC to run concurrently with sentence in cause numbered 13KR0148C-S. Within 60 days upon release from MDOC, the defendant must pay all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200 as well as restitution of $175 in the office of the Adams County Circuit Clerk.
Tuesday, May 13:
Tavonte D. White pleaded guilty to the lesser included offense of grand larceny in Judge Sanders’ court. Sentenced to five years in MDOC to run concurrently with sentenced in cause numbered 14KR0059-S. Within 60 days upon release from MDOC, the defendant must pay all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200 in the office of the Adams County Circuit Clerk.
Lawrence Green has his probation revoked in Judge Sanders’ court for violating terms and conditions of his probation: rule No. 4 — not have in possession nor use any alcoholic beverages, marijuana, narcotics or other controlled substances; rule No. 10 — not violate any laws of the United States. Sentenced to five years in MDOC. Must also enroll into and successfully complete the alcohol and drug treatment program. Credit given for any time already served in the Adams County Jail.
Tyrone Darius Williams pleaded guilty to arson third degree in Judge Sanders’ court. Sentenced to three years in MDOC. After serving one day, the defendant is placed on two years, 364 days formal post release supervision, which shall be supervised under the supervision of MDOC. Full credit given for any time already served in the Adams County Jail. Must pay all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200 within 30 days and restitution of $1,200 within 60 days from this day in the Office of the Adams County Circuit Clerk. All court costs, prosecution fee and restitution shall be paid in full within 90 days from this day in the office of the Adams County Circuit Clerk.

Wayne Hammett, 23, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days with 29 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve 24 hours in jail Banned from Walmart. Fine set at $573.
Danna Anderal Butler, 33, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days with 29 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve 24 hours in jail. Banned from Walmart. Fine set at $573.
Stratton Clay, 32, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days with 29 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve 24 hours in jail. Banned from Walmart. Fine set at $573.
Thomas Rawlings, 37, pleaded guilty to trespassing. Sentenced to 15 days with nine days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve six days in jail. Fine set at $485. Rawlings also charged with disturbing the peace. Case remanded to files.

Terence L. Hawkins, 30, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days with 28 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve 48 hours in jail. Fine set at $598.
Zina J. Ray, 26, charged with disturbing the peace. Case dismissed in consideration of other plea. Ray also pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct — failure to comply with officer. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $473.
Shedrick Jamaal Hunter, 32, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days with 29 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve 24 hours in jail. Banned from Walmart. Fine set at $573.
Kenny Von Short, 29, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days with 29 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve 24 hours in jail. Banned from Walmart. Fine set at $573. Short also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Case remanded to files: Case not prosecutable — Walmart could not sign such charge.
Devontte Warfield, 18, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $373.
Michael Coleman Jr. pleaded guilty to simple assault — domestic violence. Sentenced to 30 days with 28 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve two days in jail. Fine set at $623.
Sammy Lee Davis, 24, pleaded guilty to violating the city’s noise ordinance. Sentenced to three days suspended. Fine set at $313.

Tyrone Levon Robinson, 28, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct — failure to comply with officer. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $498.
Ryan C. Marvel, 34, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct — failure to comply with officer. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $498.
Jessie M. Tolbert, 38, found guilty of disorderly conduct — failure to comply with officer. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $473. Tolbert also charged with shoplifting — first offense. Case dismissed — victim not served.
