NATCHEZ — Services for Emmett M. Jackson, 84, of Natchez, who died Saturday, May 17, 2014, at University Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Natchez City Cemetery with the Rev. Russell Wagoner officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Jackson was born March 13, 2014, in Amite County, the son of James B. Jackson and Nina Rolllins Jackson.

He served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne division during World War II. Mr Jackson was a retired assistant fire chief at the Natchez Fire Department. He was also a former owner and operator of Miss-Lou Fire Equipment.

Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Theresa Kay Jackson; one son, Terry Lane Jackson; two brothers, Teddy and J.B. Jackson; and three sisters, twins Faye and Rae and Jackie Bennett.

Survivors include his wife, Gerry Jackson of Natchez; one son, Dale Jackson and wife, Janet, of Natchez; two granddaughters, Lindsey Cumbus and Emily Cumbus, both of Baton Rouge; one great-granddaughter, Olive; two brothers, Hansel Jackson and wife, Edith, of Natchez and Clark Jackson and wife, Marilyn, of Natchez; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Honorary pallbearer will be Doug McCallister.
