NATCHEZ — Services for Willie Mae Green Mitchell, 77, of Natchez, who died Saturday, May 10, 2014, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church The Vision Center with the Rev. Stanley Searcy officiating.
Burial will follow in Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mrs. Mitchell was born April 2, 1937, in Sibley, the daughter of Walter Jack Green and Gertrude Williams Mazique.
She loved attending church, nursing home ministries, loved cooking, loved God and her children and had a great passion for fishing and gathering natures fruits.
Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Mitchell Sr.; her parents; grandparents, Buck and Beatrice Williams; step-father, James Graig Mazique; one son, Elvin Mitchell Jr.; and two brothers, Walter Green and Governor Green.
Survivors include six sons, James E. Mitchell, Micheal Mitchell and wife, Janice, Gregory T. Mitchell and wife, Mary, Carl A. Mitchell and wife, Lisa, Christopher D. Mitchell and Kelvin L. Mitchell; six daughters, Linda M. Williams and husband, Nathaniel, Valerie Mitchell and husband, James, Melissa Randle and husband, Joseph, Eva K. Mitchell, Remona W. Mitchell and Barbara Green; one sister, Annie Lee Dee and husband, Levi,; Y.Z. Ealey, whom she loved as her brother; her New Hope family and the Sibley community, and a number of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
