FERRIDAY — Memorial services for Edwin Russel Miester Sr., 78, of Jonesville, who died Friday, May 2, 2014, at Hardtner Medical Center, will be at a later date under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Mr. Miester was born Oct. 15, 1935, in New Orleans, the son of Alvin Carl Miester Sr. and Bertha Packard Miester.

He was a resident of Jonesville and a retired New Orleans Police officer.

Mr. Miester was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Alvin Carl Miester Jr.

Survivors include two sons, Edwin Miester Jr. of Jonesville and Dan Miester of New Orleans; two daughters, Lisa Hutchins and husband, David, of Vidalia, and Tammy Illagan of Jonesville; 10 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
