NATCHEZ — Services for Julius C. Calhoun Sr., 81, of Natchez, who died Thursday, July 29, 2010, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rose Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Stanton officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Calhoun was born June 8, 1929, in Natchez, the son of Charles Calhoun and Alberta Fitzgerald Calhoun. He was retired from Johns-Mansville Company and was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Doris Marie Hardings.
Survivors include two sons, Bishop James Calhoun and wife, Angela, of Piney Woods and Julius Calhoun Jr. of Natchez; four daughters, Bertha Yancy and husband, Theodore, of Maywood, Ill., Lyndel Robinson and husband, Jackie, of St. Louis, Mo., Patricia Taylor and husband, Charles, of Dallas and Brenda Hardin and husband, Clarence, of Natchez; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
