NPD responds to calls of shots fired in area

NATCHEZ — The Natchez Police Department responded to two reports of shots fired early Sunday morning.

The police received a call about shots fired on Melrose Avenue at 2:07 a.m. and a similar call on Commerce Street at 2:10 a.m.

Natchez Police detective Jerry Ford said officers responded to the area, but could not find witnesses or evidence of a shooting.
