VIDALIA — Services for Reba Nell Reid McDonald, 88, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia.
Burial will follow in Holly Grove Cemetery in Wisner under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. McDonald was born Dec. 15, 1925, in Wellington County, Texas, the daughter of William Daniel Conn and Era Derryberry Conn.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Vidalia for more than 30 years. She enjoyed serving the Lord in many ways.
She loved teaching weekly Bible study at Heritage Manor Nursing Home for more than 20 years.
She was a devoted prayer warrior, church member, teacher, poet, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her husband, James C. McDonald; her parents; only sister, Betty Neilson.
Survivors include four daughters, Era Reid Roberts and husband, Randall, Ember Reid Madsen and husband, Richard, Elena Reid Cotten Smith and husband, David and Evodna Reid Springer and husband, John; 10 grandchildren, Anna Morgan, Tapper Hendricks, Leah Miller, Courtney Elveston, Russell Madsen, Dr. Matthew Springer, Laura Springer Brown, Mark Springer, Lindsey Armstrong and Chris Smith; 12 great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Hendricks, C.J. Elmore, Lauren Elmore, Skyler Maxwell, Ada Morgan, Claire Hendricks, McCarty Miller, Makenna Miller, Axel Elveston, Madeline Hendricks, Jagger Elveston and Brandon Madsen.
Pallbearers will be Gary Morgan, Tapper Hendricks, David Smith, Richard Madsen, Russell Madsen, John Springer, Matthew Springer and Mark Springer.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Natchez -Adams County Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
