NATCHEZ — At least two Main Street buildings were defaced with obscene words and drawings Wednesday morning.

Dimples Lounge owner Darrell Cox said a vulgar message was written on window of the nightclub.

“I’ve had that building since 1978, and no one has ever written on it,” he said. “I was shocked.”

Obscene drawings and words were also written on the vacant High Cotton building near Dimples.

The Ameriprise office beside Biscuits & Blues was also defaced, but not with obscene messages.

Cox said he was alerted to the graffiti on his building Wednesday morning and believes it happened at approximately 7:30 a.m.

Cox filed a police report with the Natchez Police Department, and Detective Jerry Ford said the department is investigating the case.

Ford said the department will look into any security footage that may be available for Main Street.

The Natchez Trails marker at the corner of Main and Pearl streets was also defaced.
