NATCHEZ — Two Wednesday morning vehicle fires are under investigation in Adams County.

The Natchez Fire Department responded to vehicle fires on Terry Road and Horseshoe Drive between 3 and 4:30 a.m., according to a news release from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said the ACSO has evidence suggesting the fires were arson.

“We are going to continue investigating these fires in the coming days,” Mayfield said.

A neighbor — who told the 911 dispatcher they saw flames shooting from a vehicle down the street after hearing two loud bangs — reported the Terry Road fire, according to the news release.

The Horseshoe Drive fire was also reported by a 911 call.

No injuries were reported from either fire.
