NATCHEZ — Services for Johnnie White Sr., 52, of Natchez, who died Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin White officiating.
Burial will follow in Tenner Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 12:30 until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. White was born Sept. 3, 1961, in Natchez, the son of Josephine White.
He attended the Natchez-Adams public school system and Alcorn State University.
On July 25, 2000, he was united in holy matrimony to Brenda Faye King.
He was a hard and dedicated worker. He worked many jobs such as The Pizza Hut, The Huddle House, Eola Hotel, International Paper Company and the Mississippi River Commission.
He accepted Christ and was baptized under the leadership of the Rev. Michelle Brooks.
Mr. White was preceded in death by four brothers, James White, W.C. Tenner, Grover Tenner and James Tenner; grandmother, Rosie Knight; and step-father, James Curtis.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda; his loving mother; two sons, Johnnie White Jr. and Anthony Cortez White; two daughters, LaShunda Isom and husband, Arthur, Sharika Hayes White and their mother, Caroln Roddy; one stepdaughter, JaVera King; four brothers, Cortez White and wife, JoAnn, Larry Young and wife, Gwen, Wilbert Young and wife, Bertha and Tommy Young; four sisters, Pearlina Hill and husband, Frank, Brenda Proby, Julia Boxley and Deborah Gordon and husband, Eugene; one mother-in-law, Irma Thomas; one brother-in-law, Carl Haynes; one sister-in-law, Ola Tenner; eight grandchildren; and a number of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
