FERRIDAY — Services for L.T. Griggs Jr., 61, of Ferriday, who died Friday, April 4, 2014, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Theodore Walker officiating.

Burial will follow in Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Griggs was born Oct. 9, 1952, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of L.T. Griggs Sr. and Pauline Johnson Griggs.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1971 to 1974 during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Griggs was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Michael and Edgar Charles Griggs.

Survivors include his mother; one son Marcus Griggs and wife, Erinn, of Miami; one daughter, Tomika Griggs of Salt Lake City; six brothers, Gregory Griggs, Ronnie Griggs, Lonnie Griggs, all of Ferriday; Dalton Griggs and wife, Debra, Morris Griggs and wife, Terry, and Robert Griggs, all of Atlanta; five sisters, Colleen Griggs and Elnora Griggs, both of Ferriday, Wanda Lee and husband, Mitch and Paula K. Griggs, all of Atlanta and Connie Manaigo and husband, Hydrick, of Wappingers Falls, NY.; five grandchildren; two aunts, Thelma Moore and husband, William, of Pittsburgh, Calif. and Annie Lee Henderson of Ferriday; and a number of nephews and nieces.
