NATCHEZ — Conflicting reports and uncooperative witnesses have Natchez police searching for answers to a Sunday morning shooting at a nightclub that injured one man.
Natchez Lt. Craig Godbold said a bullet grazed a man’s leg during a shooting at approximately 3 a.m. at Club Déjà vu on Pilgrim Boulevard.
The victim reported he was dancing inside the club when he heard a gunshot, according to the police report. The victim looked down at his leg and saw he had been shot, but reportedly did not see who shot him.
Godbold said, however, police have received reports the shooting happened outside and as many as 15-20 shots were fired. Police did not find any shell casings, Godbold said.
“There were 500 to 1,000 people there, and apparently absolutely zero witnesses,” he said. “I don’t know what happened. That’s what we’re trying to figure out now.”
Anyone with information about the shooting should call Crime Stoppers at 601-442-5000.
Crime Stoppers offers a reward of up to $1,000 for a tip leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect.
