BROOKHAVEN — Services for Thelma P. Rogers, 92, of Brookhaven, who died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, La., will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Riverwood Family Funeral Service.
Burial will follow in Union Church Cemetery under the direction of Riverwood Family Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rogers was born Jan. 31, 1922, in Union Church, the daughter of Thomas J. Pritchard and Lillie Smith Pritchard.
She was the oldest of nine children.
She retired from Taylor-Tech Inc. at age 80, where she worked for approximately 30 years. She was also employed at Blue Bell Garment Factory in Natchez and Stahl Urban in Brookhaven during World War II.
Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her husband, W.J. “Jimmy” Rogers; her parents; step father, Robert “Bob” Pritchard; two sisters, Della Mae Lee and Lillian Lazarus; one grandson, Michael Portier Sr.; one son-in-law, Hillary Portier Sr.; and brother-in-law, Sherrod Williamson Sr.
Survivors include one daughter, Georgia Ann Portier of Albany, La.; four brothers, Thomas J. Pritchard and wife, Margaret, of Jackson, Robert “Bobby” Pritchard of Seymour, Tenn., George “Lennis” Pritchard and wife, Margarita, of New Orleans and R.W. Pritchard and wife, Becky, of Fayetteville, Ark.; two sisters, Jewell Williamson of Brookhaven and Mary Downey of Hemet; three grandsons, Charles Portier and wife, Tracey, Guy Portier and wife, Arlene, all of Albany, and Hillary Portier Jr. and wife, Rebecca, of Pumpkin Center, La.; two granddaughters, Cathi Konieczka and husband, Steve, of Phenix City, Ala. and Amanda LeBouef and husband, Anthony, of Albany, La.; and a number of great- grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
