NATCHEZ — March sales tax collections in the city of Natchez were approximately $394,000, up a little more than $19,000 from last year’s figures.

March’s figures represent collections for January since sales tax collections are reported two months after the fact.

Collections so far this fiscal year, which began Oct. 1, are approximately $2.74 million.

Overall sales tax collections for the 2012-2013 fiscal year, which ended Sept. 30, were $5.4 million, a $200,000 jump over the $5.2 million collected in the 2011-2012 fiscal year.
