HOUSTON — Services for Barbara Jean Duck Holland, 64, of Houston, who died Monday, March 17, 2014, in Houston, were March 22, 2014 at Living Word Fellowship Church in Houston.
Burial followed under the direction of Paradise Funeral Home.
Mrs. Holland was born Feb. 24, 1950, in Natchez, the daughter of Pink and Lula Mae Duck.
She was a graduate of Holy Family High School and Texas Southern University.
As a child, she attended King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church. She joined Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Houston after college and later became a member of Living Word Fellowship Center.
She worked for the Houston Lighting and Power Company, now called Reliant for, 11 years.
After leaving Houston Lighting and Power Company, she began to work for Manhattan Life Insurance Co. for 15 years until her untimely departure.
Mrs. Holland was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her mother, Lula D. Wade and husband, Manson, of Natchez; one son, Christopher Holland of New York; one brother, Dr. Manson LaShawn Wade and wife, Christina, of Birmingham, Ala.; one sister, Patricia Duck of Biloxi; one uncle, Rudolph Haley of Portland; two aunts, Linda Coffee and husband, Kenny, of Fayette and Gwen Williams of Atlanta; and a number of nephews, nieces and friends.
