FERRIDAY — Services for Hazel Doris Chandler, 82, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, will be at 2 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Vanier officiating.

Burial will follow at Cypress Grove Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Mrs. Chandler was born Aug. 8, 1928, the daughter of Randall Benjamin Tarver and Molly Mae Tarver.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Alfred “Jack” Chandler; her parents; two brother, Guy and Johnny Tarver; and two sisters, Ruby Tarver and Bernice Halford.

Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Brewer of Ferriday; one son, Ralph Brewer and wife, Donna, of Clayton; one sister, Irene Bruit of Wildsville, La.; one grandson, Travis Brewer; three granddaughters, Sonja Brewer, Wanda Martin and Jill Baxter; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Drummer, Earl Drummer Jr., David Earl Drummer, Ron Bruit, Dwight Vanier, Ronnie Bruit and Bennie Tarver.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Bruit and Ronald Tarver.
