FERRIDAY — Services for Florence Thompson, 70, of Ferriday, who died Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at Rapides Medical Center in Alexandria, La., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. Eugene Williams officiating.
Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ms. Thompson was born Sept. 20, 1940, in Ferriday, the daughter of Frank and Irene Langston Thompson. She was a member of Mount Beulah Baptist Church and served on the Mother’s Board.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Sharda Lee.
Survivors include one son, Timothy Thompson and wife, Valerie, of Jena, La.; three daughters, Belinda Thompson of Macon, Ga., Irene Scott and husband, Larry, and Gale Lee and husband, Michael; one sister, Ethel Potters, all of Ferriday; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one devoted great-great-grandchild, Ja-Larrius Edwards of Vidalia.
