Darryl Johnson charged with driving while license suspended. Case remanded to files. Johnson was also charged with five counts of possession of a controlled substance. Case bound over to a grand jury. Johnson was also charged with seat belt violation. Case remanded to files.

Lonnie Armstead charged with sexual battery. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Alan Hughes charged with fleeing/eluding a law enforcement officer. Case bound over to a grand jury. Hughes was also charged with sale of a controlled substance. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Geovannia Logan charged with sale of a controlled substance. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Monday, March 10

Joseph Collins England pleaded guilty to felony shoplifting in an amount being more than $500 (Count III only) in Judge Forrest “Al” Johnson’s court. Sentenced to five years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Full credit given for time already served in the Adams County Jail. Must pay all court costs and fees as well as a $200 prosecution fee.

Friday, March 7

Traneisha Holiday, 26, charged with simple assault — domestic violence. Case remanded to files subject to these conditions, court costs waived — the parties may have contact and they may reside together at victim’s residence on condition that the defendant complies fully by taking her medications and follow-up treatment.

Jasmine Michelle Strauder, 22, charged with simple assault — domestic violence. Case remanded to files at request of victim.

Johnny Rodriguez, 67, charged with simple assault. Case dismissed without prejudice.

Jasmine Michelle Strauder, 22, pleaded guilty to reckless driving. Fine set at $242. Strauder was also charged with failure to maintain insurance proof in vehicle. Case dismissed — brought proof of insurance. Strauder, was also charged with improper driver’s license — failure to change address on driver’s license. Case dismissed — to get new driver’s license with new address within 30 days.

Cortina Lashawn Thomas, 36, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct — failure to comply with officer. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $473.

Samuel Powell, 23, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace by fighting. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $373.

Alexander Moore, 22, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace by fighting. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $373.

Jerome Harris, 30, charged with possession of a controlled substance. Case dismissed on joint motion of prosecutor and defense attorney. Prescription bottle for medicine dated and produced to court.

Monday, March 10

Tekala S. Jackson, 23, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days with 15 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve 15 days in jail. Banned from Belk. Fine set at $1,000.

Desiree Harris pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace by fighting. Sentenced to 30 days with 27 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Three days served. Fine set at $548.

LeKendrick Kelly pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace by fighting. Sentenced to 30 days with 27 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Three days served. Fine set at $548.

Wednesday, March 12

Regina Jones, 55, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from Belk. Fine set at $573.

Anthony K. Haywood, 28, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana while operating a motor vehicle. Driver’s license suspended for six months. Fine set at $493.

Anthony K. Haywood, 28, charged with carrying a concealed weapon. Case dismissed.

James Edward Marsaw Jr., 27, found guilty of amended charge of disturbing the peace — domestic violence. Sentenced to 60 days with 58 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve two days in jail. Fine set at $723.

Anthony K. Haywood, 28, pleaded guilty to DUS — revoked or suspended. Sentenced to 10 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $447. Haywood also pleaded guilty to improper equipment. Fine set at $152.
