NATCHEZ — Services for Tom M. Scott Sr., 85, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clifton Marvel officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Scott was born Dec. 3, 1924, in Natchez, the son of Amos Scott Sr. and Lottie Thomas Scott. He was a decorated World War II veteran with the U.S. Army.
Mr. Scott was retired from Johns Manville Corp. He was a member of Mount Plain Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Cinderella Smith and Virginia Wilson; one brother, Jerry Lee Scott Sr.; and one daughter, Sabrina Scott McBride.
Survivors include his wife, Fayola Jackson Scott; 10 children, Larry Scott, Charles Scott, Tom Scott Jr., Gregory Jackson Sr., Gregory Jackson Jr., Bobbie Scott Phipps, Delores Scott, Jacquelyn E. Jackson, Victoria L. Jackson and Sheryl Woods; two stepdaughters, Theresa Matthews and Diana Griffin; special daughter-in-law, Katrina Jackson; special nephew, Jerry Scott and wife, Gail; special niece, Linda Scott; special godchild, Aisha Griffin; and a number of other relatives and friends.
