VIDALIA — Services for Goldman “Billy Boy” Blaine, 65, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Stephens Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Dixon officiating.
Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Blaine was born Aug. 9, 1945, in Vidalia, the son of Bennie Scott and Beatrice Blames.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, James Taylor, Preston Taylor Jr., and Jesse Taylor; one grandson, Goldman Scott III; and one sister, Ruby McGraw.
His brother, Julius “Sonny” Taylor died six days after Mr. Blaine.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Gaines Blaine; two sons, Goldman Scott Jr. and wife, Felencia, of Dallas and Tyrone R. Gaines and wife, Pansy, of Houston Texas; two stepsons, Keith Baker and Charles Baker; two stepdaughters, Tanya Singleton and Latrice Scott Price, all of Dallas; two brothers, Bennie Scott and wife, Burnell, of Pompano Beach, Fla. and Edward Blames and wife, Joyce, of West Covina, Calif.; one sister, Louise Taylor of Baton Rouge; special niece, Hattie Neal and husband, Vincent, of Vidalia; one aunt, Annie Grant of West Covina; five grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
