FERRIDAY — Services for Addie Hooper, 50, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, March 2, 2014, at University Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Harvest Baptist Church with the Rev. Troy Thomas officiating.

Burial will follow in Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 5:45 p.m. Sunday followed by a Celebration of Life Wake Service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Mrs. Hooper was born July 21, 1963, in Natchez, the daughter of Earl Johnson and Josephine J. Hawkins.

She was educated at Copiah Lincoln Community College and LSU-Alexandria, where she earned an associate degree in child care. She was employed with the City of Vidalia as a police officer until her illness.

She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age. She joined Bethel Church and served as a Sunday school administrator, usher and choir member.

Mrs. Hooper was preceded in death by one brother, Casey B. Johnson; grandparents, Curtis and Addie Johnson; and stepfather, Samuel Hawkins.

Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Donald Ray Hooper; her parents; one son, Donald Curtis Hooper; one daughter, Charita Lynette Hooper; two grandsons, Keilan D. Sherman and Landyn I. Hooper; three brothers, Charles Wayne Johnson of Vidalia, Marcus Jenkins and wife, Alison, of Byram and Roderick Jenkins of Natchez; 10 sisters, Dinah Johnson, Quenta Calhoun and husband, Robert, Chakatria Johnson, all of Vidalia, Ruthel Johnson of Baton Rouge, Sonia Adams and husband, Keith, April Jenkins, Barbara Green, Jessie Hawkins and Juanita Hawkins, all of Natchez, and Betty Collins of Dallis; and a number of other relatives and friends.
