NATCHEZ — A quick trip to a Natchez gas station turned one man’s white Cadillac DeVille into a hot ride — in more ways than one.
Natchez Police Detective Jerry Ford said a man left the keys to his 2005 Cadillac and his doors unlocked while inside the Exxon on North Shields Lane shortly before 7 p.m. Monday.
The man came outside to find his car stolen, and police later found the vehicle on fire on Liberty Road.
Security footage shows an unknown man wearing a gray jacket and black pants walked into the Exxon parking lot, got into the Cadillac and drove off in the direction of Liberty Road.
No arrests have been made, Ford said.
Anyone with information about the case should call Crime Stoppers at 601-442-5000.
