NATCHEZ — Services for Audley Carter, 58, of Huntsville, Ala., formerly of Natchez, who died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, in Huntsville, will be at noon Saturday at Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Smith officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Bateaste Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Carter was born Jan. 13, 1955, in Natchez, the son of James Carter and Annie B. Carter.
He is a graduate of South Natchez High School, Class of 1974. He is a former entrepreneur of Easy Ride Sales.
He was a member of Zion Chapel No. 2 Baptist Church.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Carter is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, James McArthur Carter.
Survivors include two sons, Darren Carter, of Monroe, and Devin Carter, of Natchez; two daughters, Michelle Conerly, of Madison, Ala., and Stephanie Stewart and husband, Derrick, of Houston; two granddaughters, Skylar Stewart and Sayuri Williams; three brothers, Joseph D. Carter and wife, Neicie, of Waco, Texas, Odell Carter and wife, Martha, of Jackson, and Walter Carter and wife, Deborah, of Grandview, Mo.; a special friend, Barbara Crenshaw, of Natchez; and a number of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Tyrone King, LaJohn Bell, Brad Dean, Sydney Davis, Wesley Bell and Tim Chambliss.
