“The Love Connection: Economic Development and Financial Success” is the theme of Natchez Business and Civic League’s 39th annual awards banquet, which will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the Natchez Convention Center.
Guest speaker for the event will be Rep. Robert Johnson Jr., an artful speaker who is sure to inform and inspire.
Musical guests will be local soloist Sonya Mars and the Greater New Apostolic Praise Team.
Awards to be presented are: The G.F. West Man of the Year Award and the Woman of the Year Award, which will be given to a businessman and woman; the Willie S. Scott Award, named for the late civic leader and first black Justice Court Judge in Natchez, and will be given to a person who has worked to improve the community; and a Youth Award given to a youth for achievement in any area of endeavor that inspires pride in the young community.
A special award may also be given to a person whose performance instills pride in the total community.
This year an element has been added to the banquet in celebration of Valentine’s Day…after dancing. So bring your love and dance the night away.
Tickets are $25, and can be obtained from any NBCL members or at Carter Pavilion.
Call 601-442-1308 for more information.
As always, we look forward to seeing our old friends and sponsors and meeting new ones as we recognize deserving members of the Natchez community.
Rita Winn is chairwoman for the Natchez Business and Civic League’s 39th Annual Awards Banquet.
