FERRIDAY — Funeral services for Thomas Volney Rabb, 92, of Waterproof, who died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Comer Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with the Rev. Curtis Smith and the Rev. Larry Walters officiating.

Burial will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton with full military honors under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Comer Funeral Home.

Mr. Rabb was born Jan. 20, 1922, the son of Charlie Lee and Hattie Cavin Rabb and passed from this life surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Mr. Rabb was a Corporal in the U.S. Army and is a WWII Veteran . He began his lifelong residence in Waterproof in 1926 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waterproof. He married the love of his life, Ollie Hartzog Rabb, for 65 years and he loved his family children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was well respected in the community by his family and peers and will surely be missed by all that knew him.

Mr. Rabb was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers and sisters Nolan Rabb Sr., Bernice Joseph, Mary Stewart, Alma Rabb, Ollie Stockstill, Prenia Emfinger and Irene Walker.

Survivors include his wife; his children, Thomas Volney Rabb Jr. and wife, Pat, of Fayetteville, Texas, Steven Wayne Rabb and wife, Dorothy, of Waterproof, Gregory Lane Rabb and wife Susan of Vidalia, Brenda Gail Rabb Mize and husband, Richard, and Cathy Irene Rabb Jolly of Clinton; grandchildren Stephanie Elisore, Rebecca Wooten and husband, Shawn, Shelly Etzel and husband, Clint, Steven Thomas Rabb, Chasity Mize, Richie Mize and wife, Jennifer, Marcie and husband, Rickey Matthews, Lenny Mize, Gowen and husband, Michael, Keith Jolly and wife, Lorrie, Caleb Rabb, Jamie Rabb, Jody Rabb and wife, Ali, Mandie Rabb and Alyssa Rabb; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Stephen Thomas Rabb, Ritchie Mize, Lenny Mize, Keith Jolly, Caleb Rabb, Jody Rabb and Jamie Rabb.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Rev. J. Homer Coleman, Anon Trevillion, Johnny Bamburg, Marvin Smith, Tru Goldman, Laney Walker and Billy Sanders.
