Services for Phillip “Drag” Williams Sr., 69, of Natchez, who died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at Rapides Regional Hospital in Alexandria, La., will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Windy Hill Baptist Church No. 1 with the Rev. Robert Minor officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Williams was born May 31, 1937, in Natchez, the son of George Williams and Katie Evans . He was retired from L.J. Denny and Son Trucking Company. He was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a special uncle, Warren Evans.

Survivors include his daughters, Gwendolyn Williams-Jones and her husband, Justin, Renee Jones, and Brenda Williams, all of Natchez; sons, Phillip Williams Jr. and his wife, Sheila, and Tony Byrd, all of Natchez, and Larry Byrd of Houston, Texas; sisters, Camille Evans of Natchez and Louise Amedee and her husband, Walter, of Baton Rouge; brothers, Ameal Evans of Natchez, Troy Chamblis and his wife, Lakisha, of Fayette, and Horace Evans of Jackson; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
