Services for Gene Anthony Radzewicz, 56, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 6, at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Rev. Faye Hudnall will officiate and burial will follow immediately at Natchez City Cemetery.

Gene was born in Jackson, on May 1, 1950, to Ethel Cole Radzewicz and Paul Anthony Radzewicz. He was a graduate and letterman of Murrah High School in Jackson, and a graduate of Louisiana State University, where he was a member and served as social chairman of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. A Certified Petroleum Geologist, he was a co-founder of the Radzewicz Operating Corporation (ROC), Radzewicz Exploration & Drilling Corporation (REDCO) and American Natural Crude Oil Acquisition (ANCOA). In 1974 he moved to Natchez and made numerous oil and gas field discoveries. He was a member of The National Association of Petroleum Geologists, past president and member of the board of directors of the Gulf States Oil and Gas Invitational, a past Duke in the Krewe of Alpheus, and a member of the Cathedral “C” Club. His two loves in life were his family and the Oil and Gas Industry.

Gene is preceded in death by his father, Paul Anthony Radzewicz; and his grandparents Helena Lewicki Radzewicz and Anthony Radzewicz, and Mary Carter Cole.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Anne Stowers, his sons, Taylor Radzewicz, Cole Radzewicz and Stowers Mohon, his daughter, Louisa Mohon, all of Natchez; his mother, Ethel Cole Radzewicz of Biloxi; his sister, Maureen E. Radzewicz and her husband, Fred W. St. Clair, of Natchez; his grandfather, Johnny P. Cole of Houston, Texas; three nieces and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and wonderful friends.
Pallbearers will be Forrest Flinn, John E. Hoggatt, Kevin Wilson, Fred St. Clair, Luther Stowers, Robert Green, Brad Fondren and Van Phillips.

Because of his devotion to his sons Boy Scout achievements and his desire for others to attend Boy Scout Camp, the family requests that memorials be sent to Troop 168, B. S. A., c/o Ricky Warren, 108 Tanglewood Road, Natchez, MS 39120.
