NATCHEZ — Various schools in the Miss-Lou have delayed opening until 10 a.m. today, while others remain closed because of the winter-weather conditions.
Concordia Parish School Board schools, Delta Charter School in Ferriday, Catahoula Parish School District and Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s Natchez, Simpson and Wesson campuses remain closed today.
All Concordia Parish school administrators and extended-month employees should report to their worksites by 11 a.m.
Adams County Christian School, Cathedral School and Trinity Episcopal Day School will all begin at 10 a.m.
Natchez-Adams School District will also have a two-hour delayed opening.
Frazier, McLaurin and West Elementary schools, as well as Robert Lewis Magnet School and the alternative school will begin at 10 a.m.
Morgantown Middle School will begin at 10:15 a.m.
Natchez High School will begin at 10:20 a.m.
NASD Superintendent Frederick Hill said the three weather days the district has taken in the last week could result in some changes to the district’s calendar.
“We have two days identified (as weather days),” Hill said. “However, there are some other days built in the calendar we might have to designate as school days, such as holidays, spring break and professional development days.”
Concordia Parish Superintendent Paul Nelson said the district had two inclement weather days in its schedule, but the third day would need to be made up possibly from another already scheduled holiday, such as Mardi Gras.
Alcorn State University’s Lorman, Natchez and Vicksburg campuses will be open today.
