Services for Willie “Dooney” Briggs, 58, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clifton Marvel officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Briggs was born Jan. 4, 1949, in Adams County, the son of Herman Briggs Sr. and Neotha Savage Briggs. He served in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his father; and sister, Cynthia Briggs Young.

Survivors include his wife, Addie Session Briggs of Natchez; his mother; brother, Herman J. Briggs of Gulfport; and sister, Margaret Frazier of Newellton, La.; sons, Toraine Briggs of Indianapolis, Ind., Tyrone Briggs of Vidalia, and Jamario Fletcher of Houston, Texas; stepson, Stephen Session of Brandon; aunts, Dorothy Briggs and Gertrude Montgomery, both of Natchez; eight grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
