NATCHEZ — A family memorial service for Carl Hudson Chadwick, 76, who died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at home of complications arising from colon cancer, will be at a later date.
He chose to donate his body to science.
Carl Hudson Chadwich was born April 1, 1937, in Jackson, the son of Elvena Price Chadwick and Carl Almon Chadwick. He grew up in Natchez and was a member of the class of 1955 at Natchez High School. He studied art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and at the San Francisco Art Institute. He served in the U. S. Army from 1959-1962, where he was stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
Hudson was an avid aviation enthusiast and an ardent animal lover. He will be remembered for his beautiful pen and ink depictions of various places in Mississippi and the surrounding area.
Hudson was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his mother, of Mendenhall; his brother, Vernon, of Ridgeland; his wife, Elizabeth; a daughter, Routh, of New York City; a son, Sims, of Gulf Breeze, Florida; and two granddaughters.
