01:24 Kera Fennix obitpicALEXANDRIA, La. — Services for Kera Lynn Fennix, 23, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Solomon Shorter Sr. officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.

Ms. Fennix was born Dec. 23, 1990, in Fort Hood, Texas, the daughter of Kerry W. Fennix and Natalie Lyles.

She graduated from Natchez High School in May 2009 and was a senior at Mississippi State University, where she studied communications before she became ill. She was involved in a number of activities and had several accomplishments such as Day One Leadership Community, Miss Natchez High Sweetheart of 2009 and Natchez Miss Hospitality of 2011.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Rudolph Gaines and grandmother, Gloria Hampton-Rhyans.

Survivors include her father of Alexandria; mother and stepfather, Jerry Lyles, of Natchez; one brother, Kerry Fennix Jr.; two sisters, Natalia Fennix-Stokes and husband, Terrance of Jackson and Karla Fennix; niece Dakota Marie Milton; grandmother, Claudia Gaines, of Alexandria; great grandmother, Gertrude Fennix, of Alexandria; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
