Services for Ritho Portis Jr., 57, of Vidalia, who died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis, Tenn., will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Greene officiating.
Burial will follow at Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home, Ferriday.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Sunday at the church.
Mr. Portis was born Jan. 2, 1950, in Jackson, the son of Ritho and Dorothy Drumgold Portis. He was a nurse anesthetist.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include a brother, Gregory P. Portis of Baton Rouge; sisters, Rosamond Robinson of Robinsonville, Virlina Portis of New Orleans, Elaine P. Griffin and husband, Kelton, of Upper Marlboro, Md. and Jacqueline Williams and husband, George, of Missouri City, Texas; aunt, Mary Alice Vaughn of Chicago; uncle, Emile Gray of Hitchcock, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, cousins and special friends.
