LIBERTY — It was another dominating performance for the Adams County Christian School Lady Rebels as they hammered the Amite School Center Lady Rebels 66-18 Friday night to remain undefeated in MAIS District 5-AA.

Soon after the opening tip, ACCS took control of the game and did not let up. And there was nothing Amite School Center could do about it. After one quarter of play, the visiting Lady Rebels had a 19-5 lead. And once halftime arrived, the host Lady Rebels found themselves trailing ACCS 37-9.

It did not get much better for Amite School Center in the second half as it was outscored by ACCS a combined 29-9, including being held to just two points in the fourth quarter.

Tory Laird led ACCS with a game-high 20 points while Jordan Petty had eight points and Anna McDaniel added seven points.

ACCS (19-3, 5-0) next visits Brookhaven Academy in a key district game at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Natchez High 63, Wingfield 34

JACKSON — Kiana Jones led four Natchez High players in double figures with 14 points as the Lady Bulldogs annihilated the Wingfield Lady Falcons 63-34 Friday night in an MHSAA Division 6-5A game.

With the exception of the second quarter, Natchez High pretty much had its way with Wingfield. The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a 15-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 28-16 at halftime. Just like the first quarter, the Lady Falcons found the going tough in the third quarter as they managed to score just five points to the Lady Bulldogs’ 13 points. The fourth quarter saw Natchez High put up 22 points.

Kirdis Clark scored 13 points, Zyaire Ewing added 12 points and Ernesha Chatman chipped in with 11 points for the Lady Bulldogs.

Natchez High (15-2, 3-0) steps out of division play at 6 p.m. Tuesday when it hosts Vicksburg.

Hinds AHS 65, Cathedral 34

NATCHEZ — Erica Harris led Hinds Agricultural High School with a game-high 21 points as the Lady Bulldogs rolled to a 65-34 win over the Cathedral Lady Green Wave Friday night in an MHSAA Division 7-1A game.

Cathedral not only got off to a rough start, but it was unable to score in double figures for each of the first three quarters — and Hinds AHS took advantage. The Lady Bulldogs led the Lady Green Wave 15-6 after one quarter of play, 34-12 at halftime and 49-21 at the end of three quarters of play.

Cathedral (9-6, 2-3) next plays at St. Aloysius at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Caldwell Parish 53, Vidalia 33

VIDALIA — Dutchess Stanley and Tasha Smith paced Caldwell Parish with 11 points each as the Lady Spartans defeated the Vidalia Lady Vikings 53-33 in an LHSAA District 3-3A game Friday night.

The first quarter was the determining factor of this game. Vidalia got off to a slow start on both ends of the court against a good Caldwell Parish team. By the time the quarter was over, the Lady Spartans led the Lady Vikings 19-4. The final three quarters were almost even with Caldwell Parish only outscoring Vidalia by five points, 34-29.

Vidalia (N/A, 0-3) returns to action at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Marksville.

Winnfield 52, Ferriday 44

WINNFIELD, La. — Jada Griggs had a game-high 20 points to lead Ferriday in scoring, but Winnfield had more players reach the scoring column and that was the difference in the Lady Tigers’ 52-44 win over the Lady Trojans in an LHSAA District 2-2A game Friday night.

Winnfield wasted little time in jumping out on Ferriday. By the time the first quarter was over, the home team had a 17-7 lead. The Lady Trojans trailed by eight points at halftime, 25-17, but the Lady Tigers made sure they would get on a big run in the second half.

D’Asia Mitchell and Sha’Keria Kelly added 10 points each for the Lady Trojans.

Ferriday (7-9, 2-1) will play its first home game since Dec. 20 at 6 p.m. Tuesday against district opponent Oak Grove.
