In celebration of life of Mrs. Juanita Joyce “Mommy” Terry, who died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at Rapides Regional Medical Center, services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, at the First Baptist Church of Harrisonburg with Reid Terry, Ralph Webber and Thomy Green officiating.
Burial will follow at Harrisonburg Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home, Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Terry graduated from Louisiana Tech and was a home economics teacher and home economist for Louisiana State University Extension Service. She also was active in the family business, Terry Hardware and Lumber Company and owner of The Fabric and Gift Shoppe. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Harrisonburg where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the church choir. She enjoyed cooking, making birthday cakes and making candy with her husband. She also loved music and serving others.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, James Herbert Terry; her sons, Malcolm Terry and wife, Kay, Greg Terry and wife, Sharron, and Ken Terry and wife, Lucy, all of Harrisonburg; daughters, Janell Agan and husband, Steve, of Lead, S. D. and DeAnise Iles and husband, Curt, of Dry Creek, La.; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice Murry; and sister-in-law, Mattie Lee Joyce.
Pallbearers will be Adam Terry, Matthew Thompson, Daniel Terry, Lee McGuffee, Ron Bruit, Terry Iles, Clay Iles, Clint Iles, Gary Joyce and Brandon Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Roberts, C. F. Routon Jr., Lamar Wyles, Robert Oliphant, Joe Holloway, George McGuffee, Slagle McGuffee, Harp McDowell and Jerry Philley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Harrisonburg.
