Services for Anna B. Oten McNealy, 97, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be 2 p.m. Friday at LaGrange Baptist Church with the Rev. Samuel Hines officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mrs. McNealy was born April 21, 1909, in Adams County, the daughter of William Oten and Lucinda Foster Oten. She was the oldest member of LaGrange Baptist Church. She was a choir member. She was a nurse, serving both in the hospitals and private duty.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aaron “Gus” McNealy; siblings, Feltus Oten, Edward Oten Camille Oten, Simuel Oten and Mary Oten; stepdaughter, Earva “DeeDee” Carter; and stepson, Eddie Lee McNealy.
Survivors include her nieces, Lucinda Washington and husband, Elijah, and Mary Ann Foster-Mann, all of Chicago, Ill., Charlyn Oten of Natchez, and Nanna M. Oten of Detroit, Mich.; nephew, Feltus E. Oten of Detroit; sister-in-law, Verline Oten of Natchez; seven great-nieces; 16 great-great-nieces; a great-great-great-niece; two great-nephews; eight great-great-nephews; goddaughter, Nida “Bessie Ann” Vital and husband, Oliver, of Houston, Texas; stepson, Lamar McNealy of Chicago; special family friend, Billy Hammett Jr. of Natchez; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
