Local finishes in fourth place in marathon

JACKSON (AP) — Jack Daly, a Natchez resident, finished in fourth place with a time of 2:55:53 in the Mississippi Blues Marathon Saturday in Jackson, which included 3,500 runners from 50 states and more than 15 countries.
Daly, the son of Dr. Ed Daly, was one of just two male runners under the age of 20 to compete in the marathon.
The seventh-annual marathon took place along with a half-marathon, marathon relay and kids’ run. The event benefits the Musician’s Benevolent Fund of the Mississippi Blues Commission. Event founder John Noblin runners said they were pleased with the festivities, which took place this year at the Mississippi Museum of Art’s Art Garden.
