ROXIE — Graveside services for Paul Everett Shelley Sr., 85, of Roxie, who died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at the Kings Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, will be 3 p.m. today at the Roxie City Cemetery with the Rev. Tyson Windom officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the home of Sue Mann in Roxie.

Mr. Shelley was born Oct. 25, 1928, in Thomastown, the son of Johnny Snow and Mary Frazier Shelley. He was of the Pentecostal faith. He was a retired, self-employed carpenter. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a great-grandson, Eric Vance Kelly; a sister, Elizabeth Ann Shelley and a brother, J.W. Shelley.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Woodyear Shelley; two daughters Sue Mann of Roxie, and Lavelle Granger and husband, Billy, of Tylertown; three sons Paul E. Shelley Jr. and wife, Gwen, of Pearl, Michael Shelley and wife, Lisa, of Smithdale and Kendall Shelley and wife, Katrina, of Roxie; one brother, Larry Shelley of Florence; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be James Shelley, Michael Shelley, James McNutt, Jake Hawley, Kendall Shelley, and Andy Shelley.
