Eunice Broussard

Services for Eunice Bennett Broussard, 99, who died Wednesday, Feb. 28, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Monterey Church of Christ with Brothers Russell Crum and Brother Clyde Grammon officiating.

Burial will follow at Ford Cemetery in Monterey under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home Ferriday.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.

Mrs. Broussard was born Feb. 29, 1908, in Chase, La.

She was a retired school teacher and was active in school functions, local civic and church activities for the seventy years she resided in Monterey.

Mrs. Broussard was preceded in death by her parents, Cisco and Burley O’Bryant Bennett; her husband, Marcus Clifford Broussard; sister, Lucille Bennett Taliaferro; four brothers, Clyde, Cecil, Lewis Cole and Garvis Bennett; son-in-law, Otis E. Randall.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan B. Randall; two grandsons, Garlen Hunter Randall and Clifford Lamar Broussard Randall; granddaughter-in-law, Jamie Horton Randall; great-grandson, Hunter Dee Wise Randall; four nieces, Brenda Taliaferro Blackmon, Carol Taliaferro Caprito, Ann Bennett Cotner and Kay Bennett McManus; three nephews, Henry A. Taliaferro Jr., Raymond Cole Bennett and Donnie Lewis Bennett; and a number of great-nieces, nephews and special friends who were dedicated to her care during her final years.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Cole Bennett, Donnie Lewis Bennett, Henry Arthur Taliaferro Jr., Kent Bennett, William Blackmon, Tam Winston, Uel Beard and Buster Ford.

Honorary pallbearers will be Warren Jay Holland, Butch Cross, Clyde Moreland, Phillip Blount, Sydney Wiley, Jack Bairnsfather, Dr. Herman Gibson and Dr. Illey Dillon.

Memorials may be made to Pioneer Club at Monterey Church of Christ or St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital.
