Services for Frank Ellis Bell Sr., 92, of Woodville, who died Saturday, March 3, 2007, at The Magnolia House, in Natchez, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Newman Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. William E. McKnight and Ray Branch officiating.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, in Woodville, under the direction of Newman Funeral Home, Woodville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bell was born Dec. 21, 1914, in Pelahatchie, the son of Bennett and Lena Ellis Bell. He was the former owner of Planters Hardware in Woodville and president of the National Hardware Association. He was a member of Woodville Christian Church. He was a Mason and Worthy Grand Patron of the State of Mississippi Order of the Eastern Star. He also served in the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ethel B. Selman, Lena B. Sineath and Mary Neil Bell; brother, William Bennett Bell; first wife, Katherine Morris Bell; and son, David Louis Bell.
Survivors include his wife, Clara O. Bell of Woodville; sons, Frank E. Bell Jr. and wife, Mary Lee, Douglas V. Bell and wife, Gwen, and John C. Bell and wife, Becky, all of Woodville; sister, Eula Trull of Bloomall, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Bell, Garrett Bell, Brent Bell, David Littleton, Thomas Greer and Jason Fortenberry.
Honorary pallbearers will be J. M. Sessions, David “Shep” Crawford, W. L. Beckham, James Falkenheiner, Dr. L. J. Owens, Robert Dooley and Marvin Lewis.
