“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7.
NATCHEZ — Private graveside services for Bettie Marie Foster Baroni, 73, of Watson and formerly of Natchez, who died Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at the Carpenter House in Baton Rouge after a hard fought battle with cancer, will be in Natchez at a future date under the direction of Seale Funeral Home.
A native of Natchez, Mrs. Baroni moved to Baton Rouge in 1970, and more recently resided in Watson. She worked at Howard Brothers retail store until their doors closed in 1986. She then spent her time “making memories” with her beloved grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her flower beds with her husband and was known for having the best yard on the street. Her heart always belonged to Natchez, and she loved sharing stories from her childhood.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family is so very proud of her strength, faith, and courage as she fought cancer head-on and leaned on her Savior to carry her through. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sally and Gabe Gotfredson; her parents, Catherine and Frank Kasmierovicz, and Everett Foster; and sister, Linda Kay Kasmierovicz.
Survivors include her loving husband and best friend of over 55 years, James Baroni Sr; three children, James “Jim” Baroni Jr. and wife Brenda, Traci Baroni, and Teri Baroni; four grandchildren, Brittani Adams, Amanda Baroni, Austin Baroni, and Blake Baroni; two sisters, JoAnn Lees and husband Fred, and Carolyn Kuehn and husband Richard; a number of nieces and nephews, and special friends Darrell Lavergne, Leone Stutzman, Diane Luneau and many others.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Stagg and staff, St. Joseph’s Hospice at The Carpenter House and The Cancer Society of Baton Rouge.
