Services for Brenda Terrell Evans, 51, of Natchez, who died Saturday, March 10, 2007, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. James Baptist Church with the Rev. James Brooks officiating.
Burial will follow at the Grove AME Church Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mrs. Evans was born Aug. 16, 1955, in Adams County, the daughter of Charlie Knight Sr. and Norse Terrell Knight. She was a Baptist and a member of St. James Baptist Church. She was a seamstress.
Survivors include her son, Orenthia “Mookie” Evans and his companion, Antoinette Willson, both of Pearl; daughter, Alesia Evans of Natchez; sisters, Sharon Thornburg and husband, Alvin, of Baytown, Texas and Charlene Williams and husband, Rodney, of Destrehan, La.; father, Charlie Knight Jr. of Natchez; grandchildren, Oshaye Evans, Atearyni Johnson, Amaya Evans, all of Natchez, Jalen Evans of Baton Rouge and Olivia Wilson of Pearl; uncles, Willie Jackson and wife, Martha, of Chicago, Ill., Joe Knight and wife, Addie, William Terrell and wife, Flora, and Pearlie Williams, all of Natchez; aunts, Dorothy Reynolds of Natchez and Dorothy Coulston of Chicago; special friends, Geraldine Jackson and Barbara Washington, both of Natchez; nieces, Cedrina Knight of Norfield, Minn. and Shaneera Williams of Destrehan, La.; nephew, Christopher Williams of Destrehan; sister-in-law and special friend, Debra Evans Knapp of Clinton; former spouse, James Lee Evans of Jackson; other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
