Services for Helen Rose Smith, 82, of Huntsville, Ala., who died Sunday, March 18, 2007, will be 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Huntsville with the Rev. David Hull officiating.
Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery under the direction of Laughlin Service Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the church.
Mrs. Smith was born and reared in McComb. She was a graduate of Judson College. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and Colonial Dames of 1776. Mrs. Smith was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught and attended the Corinne Hollis Sunday School class for many years. She was known for her hospitality, creativity and fun-loving spirit.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Smith Jr.; and brother, Robert Theodore Pigott.
Survivors include her sons, Roblen D. Smith and wife, Toni, of Gulfport, and Lee O. Smith and wife, Beverly, of Athens; daughters, Lucia S. Landers of Pelham, Ala. and Hollice S. Watson and husband, Richard, of Shreveport; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; in-laws, Jean Pigott of Natchez, Gene and Joan Smith of Austin, Texas and Catherine Smith of Magnolia; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
