Monday, Nov. 25:

Hine Brown Jr. pleaded guilty to grand larceny in Judge Forest “Al” Johnson’s court. Sentenced to 10 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. After receiving credit for time already served as allowed by law, the remaining balance is suspended and the defendant is placed on post-release supervision for five years with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. As a special condition of the defendant’s post-release supervision, the defendant must participate and successfully complete the Adams County Drug Court Program. Must pay all court costs and fees as well as a $200 prosecution fee.

Friday, Nov. 22:

Calvin Matthews, who was indicted for accessory after the fact on March 25, 2013, has his case entered nolle prosequi and dismissed in Judge Johnson’s court because there is insufficient evidence to obtain a conviction.

Brandon Collins, who was indicted for accessory after the fact on March 25, 2013, has his case entered nolle prosequi and dismissed in Judge Johnson’s court because there is insufficient evidence to obtain a conviction.

Larry Penton pleaded guilty to grand larceny in Judge Johnson’s court. Sentenced to six years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. After receiving credit for time already served as allowed by law, the remaining balance is suspended and the defendant is place on post-release supervision for five years with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. As a special condition of the defendant’s post-release supervision, the Court orders that the defendant is prohibited from entering all Walmart property. Must pay all court costs and fees as well as a $200.00 prosecution fee within 90 days from the date of this Order (Nov. 13).

Friday, Nov. 15:

Eric Kewayne Holmes, who was indicted for possession of a stolen firearm in on Jan. 30, 2101, has his case entered nolle prosequi and dismissed in Judge Johnson’s court after pleading guilty to armed robbery and sentenced accordingly on Nov. 4, 2013.

Leroy Rydell Wimberly, who was indicted for burglary of a storehouse (2 counts) in Cause No. 13-KR-0090-J on Aug. 8, 2013, has his case entered nolle prosequi and dismissed in Judge Johnson’s court after pleading guilty to burglary of a storehouse as a habitual offender in Cause No. 13-KR-0106-J and being sentenced accordingly.

Eric Holmes, who was indicted for burglary of a dwelling in Cause No. 13-KR-0030(B)-J on Jan. 29, 2013, has his case entered nolle prosequi and dismissed in Judge Johnson’s court after pleading guilty on Nov. 4, 2013 to armed robbery in Cause No. 13-KR-0010-J and being sentenced accordingly.

Mark Martin pleaded guilty to the lesser misdemeanor offense of contributing to the neglect or abuse of a child in Judge Johnson’s court. Sentenced to one year in the Adams County Jail suspended and placed on misdemeanor non-reporting probation for three years. The conditions of the probation are as follows: (1) The defendant’s future good behavior and that he violates no laws; (2) Prompt payment in full of all court costs, fees, and a prosecution fee of $200; (3) Payment in full of a fine of $1,000, which shall be paid in monthly installments of $100 until paid in full starting on Dec. 1, 2013.

Thursday, Nov. 14:

O’Bryan Cortez Washington pleaded guilty to burglary of an automobile (Count I only) in Judge Johnson’s court. Sentenced to three years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections suspended and placed on probation for three years with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Must pay all court costs and fees as well as a $200 prosecution fee within 90 days from the date of this Order (Nov. 13).

Corey Danos pleaded guilty to burglary of an automobile (Count I only) in Judge Johnson’s court. Sentenced to six years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. After receiving full credit for time served as permitted by law, the remaining balance will be served on post-release supervision for five years with the MDOC. Due to a hold from Louisiana on the defendant, said post-release supervision should be non-reporting until further order of the court. Must pay all court costs and fees as well as a $200 prosecution fee. Count II (burglary of an automobile) is dismissed.

Thursday, Nov. 7:

Damone R. Johnson Jr. pleaded guilty to dog fighting in Judge Johnson’s court. Sentenced to three years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. After receiving full credit for time already served, the remaining balance will be served on formal post-release supervision with the Mississippi Department of Corrections for two years. Must pay a fine of $1,000 all court costs and fees as well as a $200 prosecution fee no later than Dec. 31.

Mikell Dinell Chatman pleaded guilty to dog fighting in Judge Johnson’s court. Sentenced to three years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. After receiving credit for time already served, the remaining balance will be served on formal post-release supervision with the Mississippi Department of Corrections for two years. Must pay a fine of $1,000, all court costs and fees as well as a $200.00 prosecution fee no later than Dec. 31.

Wednesday, Nov. 6:

Adrian Odell Thomas pleaded guilty to felony DUI in Judge Johnson’s court. Sentenced to three years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections suspended and placed on one year intensive supervision (house arrest) with the MDOC. Upon successful completion of intensive supervision, the defendant will be placed on post-release supervision for two years with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Must pay a fine of $2,000, a prosecution fee of $200, and any and all court cots and fees within one year of the date of this Order (Nov. 4).

Angela Strahan pleaded guilty to misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a child in Judge Johnson’s court. Sentenced to one year in the Adams County Jail suspended and placed on misdemeanor non-reporting probation for three years. The conditions of the probation are as follows: (1) The defendant’s future good behavior and that she violate no laws; (2) Prompt payment in full of all court costs, fees, and a prosecution fee of $200; (3) Payment in full of a fine in the amount of $1,000, paid to the District Attorney’s Office no later than 30 days from the date of this Order (Nov. 5, 2013); (4) As a special condition, the defendant shall have no contact, direct or indirect, with the victim, the victim’s mother, and the victim’s family in this case.

Monday, Nov. 4:

Freddie Scott Jr. pleaded guilty to felony DUI (Count I) in Judge Johnson’s court. Sentenced to two years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections suspended and placed on one year intensive supervision (house arrest) with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Must pay a fine of $2,000 a prosecution fee of $200 and any and all court costs and fees within one year of the date of this Order (Oct. 31).

Thursday, Oct. 31:

Jenna Joette Williams pleaded guilty to the lesser misdemeanor offense of petit larceny (two counts) in Judge Johnson’s court. Sentenced as follows (1) Serve a period of six months in the county jail on each count to run concurrent. However, the Defendant is given credit for any time served and the remainder of the sentences is suspended upon good behavior and strict adherence to the terms of this order; (2) Pay court costs in the amount of $248.75 within 30 days; (3) Pay restitution to the victim in the amount of $880 within 90 days with $380 of said restitution to be paid immediately; (4) Have no contact with the victim or the victim’s family; (5) Be placed on non-reporting probation for one year; (6) The defendant shall appear before the Court on Feb. 10, 2014 at 9 a.m. to report on the progress being made by the defendant in getting all fees and restitution paid in full. If the defendant has paid all fees and restitution in full as ordered, she need not appear.

Justin Michael Gray pleaded guilty to burglary of a building other than a dwelling in Judge Lillie Blackmon Sanders’ court. Sentenced to five years in the State Department of Corrections. After serving one day, the remaining balance is suspended and the defendant is placed on four years, 364 days formal post-release supervision, which shall be supervised under the supervision of MDOC. Full credit given for any time already served in the Adams County Jail. Must pay all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200 within 30 days from this day in the Office of the Adams County Circuit Clerk.

Tuesday, Oct. 22:

Augustine A. Bailey pleaded guilty to felony shoplifting in Judge Johnson’s court. The court withheld acceptance of the guilty plea pending the successful completion of the following conditions: (1) Her future good behavior and that she violates no laws, for a period of up to three years, or further order of the court; (2) Payment of all court costs, including any fees incurred by Adams County, plus a prosecution fee of $200 within 60 days from the date of this Order; (3) Payment of restitution in the amount of $322.35 within 60 days from the date of this Order.
