Prep boys roundups: McCoys lead Trinity boys in 71-34 victory

BOGALUSA, La. — Dré and Tommy McCoy scored 25 points each to lead the Trinity Episcopal Saints to a 71-34 win over the Ben’s Ford Christian School Eagles Friday night.
Michael Whitley chipped in with 13 points for Trinity, which led Ben’s Ford 34-20 at halftime before outscoring the Eagles 28-12 in the third quarter for a commanding 62-32 lead.
Trinity Episcopal (7-0) takes on Prairie View Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27 at the Brookhaven Academy Holiday Invitational.
ACCS 42, Bowling Green 40
FRANKLINTON, La. — Lester Wells led a balanced scoring attack for Adams County Christian School with nine points as the Rebels held on for a 42-40 win over the Bowling Green School Buccaneers Friday night.
Ryan Strong, Trey Fleming and Tyler Stockstill had six points each for ACCS, which won the game despite being outscored in three of the four quarters and a 24-point effort by Bowling Green’s Conner McCain. The Rebels won the game by outscoring the Buccaneers 20-12 in the second quarter, which gave ACCS a 28-24 halftime lead.
ACCS (10-1) next plays on Monday, Dec. 30 at 7:30 p.m. at home against Silliman Institute.
Loyd Star 66, Cathedral 49
NATCHEZ — James Coley led Cathedral with a game-high 21 points, but he was the only Green Wave player to score in double figures while Loyd Star had four players do that in the Hornets’ 66-49 win Friday night.
Edrick Alsworth led Loyd Star with 18 points and Caleb Yarborough had 13 points. Levi Redd added 11 points and Brad Jasper chipped in with 10 points. The Hornets outscored the Green Wave in all four quarters.
Jardarius Anderson had nine points for Cathedral (4-6), which next plays at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at Monterey.
Madison Parish 63, Vidalia 48
TALLULAH, La. — Julius Wilson led Vidalia with a game-high 25 points, but Madison Parish held Isiah Thompson to just four points as the Jaguars defeated the Vikings 63-48 Friday night at the Madison Parish Tournament.
The second quarter was the turning point of the game as Madison Parish outscored Vidalia 19-11 to turn a 10-9 deficit after one quarter of play into a 28-21 lead at halftime. The Jaguars put the Vikings away with a 22-14 advantage in the fourth quarter.
Josh Loyd led Madison Parish with 23 points and Jontu Reynolds had nine points.
Vidalia (6-5) takes on General Trass today at 6:30 p.m. at the Madison Parish Tournament.
Marksville 77, Block 64
JENA, La. — The Block Bears lost to the Marksville Tigers 77-64 Friday night at the Jena Holiday Classic. No other information on the game was available.
Block (5-5) takes on Alexandria Senior High today at 12:30 p.m. at the Jena Holiday Classic.
