RAYMOND — Lester Wells scored both goals for Adams County Christian School in the second half, but it was not enough as the Rebels lost to the Central Hinds Academy Cougars 4-2 Thursday afternoon.
ACCS once again got off to a slow start, but this time it caught up with the Rebels as they gave up three goals and trailed 3-0 at halftime.
“After halftime, our guys decided to step it up, and we went up with a 4-2 final score,” head coach Jimmy Allgood said. “We missed a (penalty kick) shot early in the first half that could have changed the complexion of the game. At this point in the season, the guys got a little slice of humble pie today.”
Wells scored his first goal at the 58th minute of the second half and added his second goal at the 64th minute.
ACCS (5-1, 5-0) next plays at 3 p.m. on Jan. 6 at home against Brookhaven Academy.
